We can start with trees...
Some fall color at a school.
Right after I took this photo I saw a man walking away from having harvested some red maple branches for his decorations.
Very few flowers survived the drought and heat this summer. These were protected from direct sun and hand watered.
A good place for people watching!
The 11th Street Station has several food trucks as well as a bar area, so Saturday has lots of people enjoying lunches outside. I tried my first Pupusa - stuffed with spinach and cheese. Yum!
I haven't yet found out what these dead trees are...I've seen several high above the others, bare limbs.
The fairgrounds had some yellow trees.
A neighbor decorated their door and railing in the hallway!
Oct 2 morning view out the window.
Oct 6 cloudy afternoon same view...

Life is too short to stop doing what you love, and it’s never too late to rediscover your favorite things.
If you needed to hold on to the railing, it could be electrifying!
ReplyDeleteAnd then we might see your "true colors come shining through!"
DeleteI can't see those lights lasting long. There's a reason senior housing has handrails. You're really getting around now and enjoying your new home.
ReplyDeleteThe need for the railings has certainly been evident when I first started roaming these halls. Yes, I dare say they were removed pretty quickly!
DeleteI had the same thought about the railings. They are not there for decorative purpose.
ReplyDeleteOur maintenance man recently quit. Not sure when a new one will be hired. In the meantime the manager is trying to assign parking places to the tenants who have cars...she says there are 4 more cars than spaces, so I feel fortunate to not be asked to park on the street around the corner of the building. She says she's going to paint numbers on the spaces. I kind of doubt it.
DeleteDo you still have Texaco down there, or was that just a nostalgia sign. My first credit card after uni was a Texaco, so I am very attached. lol
ReplyDeleteI think, however they were gone from Canada, maybe by the late 70s. I think they just became part of PetroCanada or something like that. Gulf has been long gone too.
All the gas signs there are nostalgic, including Conoco. They have lots of food trucks at that gathering place. I liked it, except it does depend on the weather! I used to have gas cards, and that's how I traveled camping throughout the west in the 70s...paid for the trip after coming home and getting a job.
DeleteTrees are turning here too, shades of terracotta and gold. But not today - it is raining at the moment so that warm glow is a little damp!
ReplyDeleteWe lost a good portion of the leaves with our 3 days of off and on rain storms. It's still cloudy right now (9:30 am Th) but due to be sunny again for a few days soon.
