Sunday I went to Walmart to pick up some household type things. Purchased one thing that was wrong for my needs, so it is in the car to be taken back.
I also went to the Humane Society Thrift Store. First time there. And there was a 50% off sign for furniture. Could I hope to find a dresser? Nah. But bar stools that were comfortable! Ah ha...at $6 each I knew I could get 2 home in the car. And even got one up the elevator and down the hallway on my little cart. One waited till the next day as that was quite enough for this elder!

Like many businesses in Durano, the Humane Society backs onto the Animas River.
The highway 550, also known as Camino del Rio, is high above the riverbed. The path was also shared by bikers, and I think it goes for miles along the river.
Not sure if this is goldenrod or something else.

Monday morning note: When the weather is predictable it's somewhat soothing! Here rain was forecast for 3 days, and it started right about when expected. Of course the downside is that there may have been some flooding. The prediction was up to 3 inches in Durango. Yikes.
Not having a local TV station (I wonder if there is a radio one at least...) I can't tune in to get the reports of weather here. We're on the outskirts of Albequerque, New Mexico's TV weather reports. Usually not much of any mention.
So I use the Weather Channel app on the phone.
