MY SENIOR ADVENTURES IN DURANGO, COLORADO! While we had 3 days of rain in the valley, snow settled on peaks in the distance.

It's colorful in town!!

 We can start with trees...

Some fall color at a school.

Right after I took this photo I saw a man walking away from having harvested some red maple branches for his decorations.

Very few flowers survived the drought and heat this summer. These were protected from direct sun and hand watered.

A good place for people watching!

The 11th Street Station has several food trucks as well as a bar area, so Saturday has lots of people enjoying lunches outside. I tried my first Pupusa - stuffed with spinach and cheese. Yum!

I haven't yet found out what these dead trees are...I've seen several high above the others, bare limbs.

The fairgrounds had some yellow trees.

A neighbor decorated their door and railing in the hallway!

Oct 2 morning  view out the window.

Oct 6 cloudy afternoon same view...

  1. If you needed to hold on to the railing, it could be electrifying!

    1. And then we might see your "true colors come shining through!"

  2. I can't see those lights lasting long. There's a reason senior housing has handrails. You're really getting around now and enjoying your new home.

    1. The need for the railings has certainly been evident when I first started roaming these halls. Yes, I dare say they were removed pretty quickly!

  3. I had the same thought about the railings. They are not there for decorative purpose.

  4. Do you still have Texaco down there, or was that just a nostalgia sign. My first credit card after uni was a Texaco, so I am very attached. lol

I think, however they were gone from Canada, maybe by the late 70s. I think they just became part of PetroCanada or something like that. Gulf has been long gone too.
