Welcome November!

It wasn't until Bambi moved behind the trash can that I noticed her two sisters inside the back yard.

The next day the owners let their dog out and I saw Bambi in the alley bounding away and across the street, which fortunately was empty of traffic for a change! Whew!

In my personal life, I've got a few dings that are getting attention. The stye on my lower eyelid wasn't one after all, but a chalazion...which means I'm not able to wait till it clears, while using warm compresses, but need to see an eye doctor, an opthamologist. I'm scheduled for that later this week. And it doesn't bother me as much as it did when I was using the warm compresses. If you want a scary photo, here's the eye...

Last week on Thursday I had the skin cancer on my shoulder removed. So here's the "after" photo.

The rest of this 84 year old body went to my first Physical Therapy session on Monday, and I've done the exercises daily at home as instructed. This next week on Monday I'll return to see what new efforts she has for me, to be enhanced again on Wednesday.

And on last Friday I started pulmonary rehab. That ended up being the straw so to speak that knocked this old camel's back out. I slept really well that night and took off from everything on Saturday. The rehab means doing more active work like breathing hard for 25 minutes of recumbent bike pedaling. That was after 20 minutes of upper body weight training. Fortunately I was forgiven from actual weights due to the new stitches from the surgery the day before on my shoulder. I was allowed to shower and change the bandage after 48 hours. Those were my minimal efforts on Saturday...the "no exercise day."

Fortunately none of this caused any pain. My legs were rubber after the bicycling exercise, so they wheeled me out to my car in a wheelchair. But I woke up without any muscle complaints the next morning. Next session isn't until Friday!

From Halloween to floods (again!)

At 8:15 am mountain daylight savings time, on Halloween, Oct. 31, the power plant smoke-stack was just coming  into sunshine...remember how ...
