Goal accomplished! I went early yesterday to the Art Show downtown in Durango. Though rain had been forecast off and on, only a few places were empty on the three blocks of vendors on both sides of Second Avenue, plus a few small parking lots off to the sides.
I found a parking spot on the street within walking distance...a big plus. I even used the shoulder strap across my body to carry the portable oxygen generator (there I remembered what it's called!) I wore slacks with cargo type pockets and skipped carrying a purse, as well as plastic! Otherwise I'm sure I would have come home with a $250 shawl in hand woven rayon. They were absolutely edible!
Cheryl Kabala was quite friendly, and when I apologized for not being in a position to purchase what I found lovely, she was quite understanding. She and her husband come to Durango for this show yearly, living I think, in New Mexico.

Glad you made it to the festival. It looks like you had good weather.
ReplyDeleteThe weather was great...I took off my warm up shirt when I arrived, and it was just warm enough and sunny!
Delete...an art festival is right up your alley!
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteI am glad you were able to go to the art festival. The weather looks nice. The pottery looks beautiful.
Take care, enjoy your day and happy week ahead.
What a fun thing to do on a beautiful autumn afternoon!
ReplyDeleteYou must be acclimating! This is wonderful.
ReplyDeleteThose shawls are indeed lovely.
Not sure what I think about the pottery in that booth. Seems very much directed towards tourist trade, which I suppose is the point of it.
It’s great that you were able to get to and wander through the exhibits.
ReplyDeleteI like the little goddess figures. You are so inspiring, continuing to get out even though you have to carry oxygen with you.
ReplyDeleteWhat a delightful day! Glad you enjoyed it.
ReplyDeleteYou are managing well! I can see that the weaving would be tempting.
ReplyDeleteHello:
ReplyDeleteI am trying out AC's idea of using "Feedly" to more successfully keep track of blogs I like, and I am hoping it will help me to keep more in touch. I have not visited in a very long time, but I wanted to say how much I appreciate seeing the art festival! It looks like you had a really pleasant day and great weather!

Congratulations to the new blog!
ReplyDeleteNice pottery with a definite Native American influence.
ReplyDeleteSo happy you were able to go to the Art Festival. What a gorgeous day it turned out to be - look at that blue sky! The featured artists are so talented! I can't wait until future posts.
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone for such thoughtful comments. I've been out and about - doing the church thing, then the park by the river, and finally bringing home a take-out.
ReplyDeleteI read your posts on your frustrating problems with blogspot, Barb. So I just asked Google "Are the new problems with blogspot blogs?" and got this answer:
ReplyDelete"AI Overview Yes, Google Blogger (Blogspot) recently suffered from a massive wave of automated false-positive suspensions. Mass Suspensions and AI Glitches
What happened: Starting around August 4, 2026, Google's automated security and AI systems incorrectly locked out hundreds or thousands of legitimate Blogger websites.
The reason given: The platforms were falsely flagged for violating the "Malware and Similar Malicious Content" policy.
Current status: Google acknowledged the bug and stated that the automated misclassifications have been addressed. Affected users who still see a lock icon or notice of removal can submit an appeal through the "Info" or dashboard review tab on Google Blogger Help.
Minor Ongoing Issues - Browser comments: Users on the Reddit Blogspot Community have reported bugs where publishing comments via Google Chrome gets stuck on an endless "Publishing" loop, though it may work on alternative browsers like Microsoft Edge."
I don't know how any of these things work, but I have had good luck asking Google's AI and following its offers to help. Since Blogspot is a Google product its Gemini should know how to find answers if you describe the issues in detail. This recent mishap may have affected your blogs because your move changed your sign-in location which probably seemed suspicious to the security bots. Hope this helps.
Many thanks for looking into this, Mike! I'll see what might be done. Certainly the bloggers who travel a lot would have different sign-in locations all the time. But maybe they wait till they get home before blogging. Interesting thoughts.
