Sepia Saturday for this week...
From my living room window, I see the utility truck with it's crane has again started working on some cables (Tuesday morning.) Obviously the last attempts (see The Watcher) weren't successful. I hope it won't affect any of my services here in the apartment. This time they closed off the parking spaces underneath the work. That won't be very popular with the residents.
The workers have trucks that show a logo saying "cleanetworX" - doesn't sound like the power company. And not Spectrum TV. So I don't know who they represent really.
And Wednesday a change where the whole alley was closed off and lots of new utility trailers appeared. The parking spaces are still blocked off.
And apparently this time they are pumping something out of the ground. I didn't watch this very-low-action pursuit, so don't know if the other devices were used or not. They left at some time, as it was raining off and on.

Thursday morning a man appeared in the requisite utility worker bright green vest and put out a road closed sign and some traffic cones at 7 am (when I first looked out.) An hour later when the first train came by it had been raining steadily for a while, and the cones and signs were gone. I saw the truck pulling the trailer with the big wheel of orange cable driving somewhere else. And they opened the 4 parking spaces again, but left the cones at the front of them, as if they might return when it's no longer raining.
Wrong again...the pumping thing was there in the rain later on Thursday afternoon.

And my friend back in Black Mountain NC sent this video of a tree being removed with a huge crane...

The best way to not feel hopeless is to get up and do something. Don’t wait for good things to happen to you. If you go out and make some good things happen, you will fill the world with hope, you will fill yourself with hope. |

Just found my way over here to your new blog (I think I may have visited some posts before without realising that you had started a new one). Sounds strange that you haven't been given any info about the work they're doing? (Hopefully that means you're not supposed to be too much affected by it?)
ReplyDeleteYou've had an interesting show out your window. I assume, luckily, that none of the tourist trains go by at night. That could be a problem if they did with the noise.
ReplyDeleteHello Barb,
ReplyDeleteLots happening outside your window. It is a shame you have to close the window when the train goes by.
The one work truck sounds like a cable company. Take care, Happy Friday! Have a great day and a happy weekend.
...keep doing something and don't feel hopeless.
ReplyDeleteYou found a great analogy!
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a great vantage point! I've never lived in an apartment. I'd want one with a view like yours!
