Dawn sun hits the cliffs above the Animas River Valley (and Durango) on Wednesday, Sept. 16 at 7 am (looking northwest).
My one plant in the apartment at this point...plus the cuttings which are rooting in water still. The mum had lots of buds which probably wouldn't open, but some nice new leaves gives me hope the plant will at least continue to live! Not sure it gets enough sunlight (6 hours is recommended!)
Here's how it looked when I bought it.
Now after cutting off all the buds that wouldn't open. Wonder what it will look like in another month!
How Thursday looked from my desk. The rolled towel on the windowsill is just to block the bright sun when the blinds are closed on sunny afternoons. I've found a way to prop a few slats open for the mum, unless I'm watching TV. But I'm more interested in blogging and emailing over on the desk...so my coping strategy for the health of the plant and my own eyesight seems to work for now.

...the art scene in Durango looks great.
ReplyDeleteThe scenery out your window is beautiful, but the picture of sunrise on the mountains is stunning!
ReplyDeleteI have never thought of mums being something to keep around. We have one house mum and two outside to greet the fall. Inside is yellow and the outside ones area light purple leaning toward pink.
